If anyone who has kids (or even if you don't!) hasn't read anything by Mo Willems, you are missing out. He wrote the Pigeon books....Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, etc., plus Knuffle Bunny, Leonardo the Terrible Monster, The Elephant and Piggie books.....there are more. He has a wonderful sense of humor. I cannot recommend his books enough! Most of his books are easy to read as well, with simple illustrations....and a great web site as well... I could sit and recommend books all day...especially children's and young adult. Feel free to ask, maybe I'll just 'push' a different author every once in a while.....What do YOU think? What are YOU reading? While I'm here....If you are someone who enjoys tantastical beings, I cannot say enough about the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull! The first book begins with two children who are going to stay with their Grandparents whom they barely know. The Grandparents turn out to be the "keepers" of a preserve for fantastical creatures, you know, fairies, centaurs, fauns, brownies, and such. Once the kids find out the secrets of Fablehaven, they have enough adventures to fill volumes....well, 4 so far. (Mr. Mull has a pretty cool site as well.) OK, enough for one post....

Finally got to read the newest Fablehaven.....Amazing, the best so far! Also, The Various, and its sequel Celandine by Steve Augarde are very well written, entertaining, and fascinating.
The Penderwicks : a summer tale of four sisters, two rabbits, and a very interesting boy by Jeanne Birdsall, is another great read, and hey, no fantasy at all. Just a great story about a group of sisters and their adventures. This one also has a sequel, The Penderwicks on Gardam Street. We have gotten some really great new books in "upstairs"....I stay busyanyway. My "to be read" list keeps getting longer and longer.

So, I recently finished The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. This was a very original and well written story. I posted about it on our Facebook page. Check out the trailer and see what you think.

Lips Touch Three Times by Laini Taylor is wonderful. The trailer is here. Also By Laini Taylor the Faeries of Dreamdark series is very good. The first two are Blackbringer, and Silksinger. Here is a link for those as well. We have just gotten in some really good new books. Anyone else have any recommendations/suggestions? I tend toward fantasy (in case you haven't noticed), so others recommending would be great too. Or you can disagree with me. (I get tired of talking to myself.....sometimes...)
