I would like to see more people adding their two cents on the forums, that's what I would like to see.  People like to give opinions, why not here?

New things ?  I have some suggestions...

I would like to see more soft, comfy chairs scattered around the library -- the kind you just sink into and could be sitting there for hours with your nose in a book.

As far as library materials, I would like to see more Manga, (books and movies) maybe even a separate section just for manga.

I utilize the library to check out dvd's quite a bit.  I would like to see more independent movies (imdb.com lists a great many and has trailers for several on their web page.  Greencine.com also), I would like OCPL to offer more foreign movies.  I would like to see the entire "Planet Earth" series from BBC.  I would like to see more stand-up comedy on dvd.  We all need to laugh as much as we can...

i agree 110 % on the manga/anime. but also MORE graphic novels. these are what got my daughter to READ!  no she cant get enough.   OCPL needs more  books, magazines, videos of this  genre .   and  to have it's own section in FULL VIEW so they "walk off " as much as that seems to be a big problem with  the anima, manga, graphic novels.

i would love  to see the comfy chairs scattered.

dvd's- more on  the series on  discovery, health , huistory, animal  planet  networks.

GHOST ADVENTURES seasons  !

and to be able to check out seasons on dvd's for more than a week so  they can actually  be watched in whole.

I will pass along these suggestions, they are good ones!  THANKS!  This is what we need more of.  I know we are ordering more graphic novels....as I type, in fact.  : )  We have (upstairs, at least) talked about the graphics/manga having their own place.   Any requests as far as what to order for magazines, dvds and such would be great.  If you want, you can send requests directly by e-mail, or bring in a list....we try to keep a running list of requests at the desk (again, upstairs....I am not sure how downstairs does it).  Thanks again ladies!

Thank you for acting on the suggestions that have been provided thus far.  I have noticed more chairs, more anime, and more manga already....

I would also like to see some newer, more contemporary cookbooks in the circulation.  OCPL has lots of cookbooks, but many of them are quite dated.  Food trends and cooking techniques do change, and have changed quite a lot in the last several years.  Specifically, I would like to see more books (cookbooks) by Jamie Oliver, Nigella Lawson, Tyler Florence, Ina Garten, Giada De Laurentis, and Ellie Krieger.

We do try.  smile

I know what you mean about the dated-ness of cookbooks, and will pass along your suggestions.  Thank YOU....suggestions from our patrons are very important to us.  More changes, and new 'stuff' are on the way.
